DO-ALL #18 can find many homes around the airport. It can safely be used inside and out of the planes (exterior wash, spot remover, carpet cleaner, seat wipe-downs) and also used all over the hangar, maintenance sheds and even the runways themselves.
For concrete runways, hangars, and taxi areas where oil has leaked and imbedded itself in or on the concrete:
- Wet the affected area with water
- apply a 1:10 solution of DO-ALL #18/water on the dirty area
- DO-ALL #18 sets up in a solution, 10-15 minutes if allowable
- At this point the solution has liquefied to some extent the oil build-up
- Agitation by brush, machine or high pressure washer will further break down the oil
- Rinse with hose, the rinse will disperse dirty oil into dirty water with no slip factor
- If the concrete was so damaged, where the oil has not been cleaned off of it and the concrete is old and porous, then manual agitation, brush, broom or machine will bleach it out
Rubber burns and oil spots from forklifts can be cleaned with the same solution of DO-ALL #18. Agitation will break the bond of the rubber and oil combination for removal.
All colored lines on runway s, take off, landing or holding patterns usually have oil dropped over them from the jet fuel spilling out on take off, which causes them to become very slippery and facilitates the necessity to repaint them. A 1:20 solution sprayed on them plus a light agitation and rinse will extend the time necessary between repainting.
As a surface wash on the exterior of an airplane, use a dilution of 1:20-30 and apply with hot water if possible (107° F) for the best results. Air dry. There will be no film left on the plane and it will inhibit rust.
Other uses: Steam cleaning, engine cleaning, floor cleaning, parts cleaning, fuel stain clean-up, carpet cleaning, plastic cleaning, floor scrubbing machines.
DO-ALL #18 at different levels of dilution can replace many cleaning products by itself saving the airport money and storage area. DO-ALL #18 is typically diluted 1:20-30 but can be effectively diluted, in some cases, up to 100 times which makes it a great value for the money.
The product will not harm the environment, the workers working in proximity of it and it is totally non-flammable. In fact, due to the manner in which it breaks down hydrocarbons (oil and fuel) it can be used to put out a gas or oil fire on concrete, in the hangars, out in the open and even on water.
