DO-ALL #18® Product Profile

DO-ALL #18 is a colloidable-type water based biodegradable micellular dispersant of hydrocarbon liquids. particularly, it is a non-toxic biodegradable alkaline detergent having a hexylene glycol base to which has been added a series of surfactants and surface active agents to produce a product that is environmentally safe and which works on the same premise as natural biodegradation of hydrocarbons and polar solvents. It is a water based non-petroleum, non-Butyl Cellosive, non-citrus formula that has no flash point and is completely soluble in water.

DO-ALL #18 is excellent for all general oil contamination cleaning at oil refineries, terminals, jetties, factories, vessel hulls and all areas and installations dealing with the problems associated with oil contamination and pollution.

When sprayed on oil contaminated surfaces, mixed with water, and using proper agitation it will immediately reduce the viscosity of the oil spilled and will keep reacting until all that is visible is the look of dirty water. Agitation is the key, not more or excessive usage of the product. The oil will not sink nor will it stay on top.

The application should be by any hand operated or power spraying system. Ins some instances and when available, depending on the type of oil, weathered or encrusted deposits, it is good to use hot water, or steam cleaning but certainly the more pressure or PSI delivered through the mechanical devices used, enhances the end result.

By following what has been described in previous paragraphs, you will not that generally within 5 to 20 minutes, it will give you positive results that are observable.

The applications that have been found most desirable and cost effective are to:

  1. Hose down the areas to be treated with water (salt water if in marine environments).
  2. Apply DO-ALL #18 with a normal application of 1 liter per 20 square liters of oiled surfaces. Lighter or heavier applications may be needed depending on thickness of oil deposits and degree of weather.

DO-ALL #18 conforms to the following specifications and physical properties:

  1. USDA classifies the product as Category "A" under requirements set forth in regulations of the "List of Chemical Compounds" of the Meat and Poultry Inspection Program.
  2. The product is rated 7 when tested in accordance with the interim Tests for Cleaning Efficiency of the Chemical Specialties Manufacturers Association.
  3. The product has passed the cleaning efficiency tests as set forth in GSA General Specification PD-00220.

Directions for Storage Conditions

The storage conditions are as follows. Both indoor and outdoor storage is permissible. The maximum storage temperature is 155° F. Minimum storage temperature is 24° F. The concentrate will hold its stability without separation at a maximum temperature of 170° F and a minimum of 16° F without damaging the effectiveness of the formulation.

The shelf life is indefinite under recommended storage conditions. The dilutions I've given are recommended application procedures; however, concentration and conditions for use really depends upon water salinity, water temperature and types and ages of pollutant.
